Our take on Optus
Optus offers both NBN and 5G Home Internet, giving some metro customers an alternative to the NBN. Their 5G Home Internet can deliver speeds above 100 Mbps in covered areas without an NBN connection, which suits households in 5G coverage areas who want a wireless solution. NBN pricing is mid-range, between the budget providers and Telstra. Customer satisfaction has been below average, particularly following the high-profile data breach in 2022 which affected millions of customers. If mobile bundling and potential 5G access matter to you, Optus is worth comparing. Otherwise, better-rated providers are available at similar or lower prices.
